Common Questions

What is the Counseling Process?

We begin with a consultation to understand your goals and establish a safe, empathetic space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your pace. You do not need to come with questions or goals already determined. We will work together to determine the process from our very first meeting.

Do you accept insurance?

While I do not bill insurance directly, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. I also have limited availability for a sliding scale option based on your income. Please contact me to discuss what's best for you.

How long is a session?

Sessions typically last 50 minutes. This allows for a deep and meaningful exploration of your personal challenges and growth, as well as ongoing discussions based on goals set. For couples and family counseling, longer sessions may be beneficial and available.

What should i expect?

You can expect a warm, professional, and confidential environment. We will focus on building a strong therapeutic alliance to help you navigate your unique journey. You set the pace.

Which is more effective - online or in person therapy?

This depends on the relationship between the therapist and the client. Only you can determine what works for you. Since I only offer virtual at this time, I ask that you set aside a physical space, with minimal distractions to join the call. Please focus all of your energy toward being your authentic self during our time together.

How long does therapy take?

There is no definitive answer to this question. Effective therapy depends on the client's participation and openness to the process, the therapist's responsiveness to the client's needs, and the therapeutic relationship between the two.
